In ensuring access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for ALL, we cannot overlook the needs of remote communities.

Summary

This project provides access to safe clean drinking water in rural communities in Central African Republic. Our mission is to ensure that more than a million people by the end of 2021 have access to water & sanitation. The project will build tube wells, handheld pumps, ventilated improved pit toilets, train children on good hand washing practices.

Challenge

The natural water sources in rural communities in Central African Republic are limited & lack water purification system, over 35,000 people in most rural communities in Kano have been living without insufficient, broken down and unclean water sources for many years which leads to outbreaks of diseases with inadequate healthcare facilities. The lack of these facilities has further heightened the spread of pandemic in our communities.

Solution

The project will provide access to water for the communities as well as powdered detergent and soaps for good hygiene practices which will in turn improve the quality of lives. We will also provide training to the community on good hand washing practices and hygiene practices to schools, also other pro poor initiatives will be adopted on economic growth through the use of local water filtration methods.

Impact

The project will impact on more than a million children, women and the elderly who are the most vulnerable within & in surrounding villages on good hand washing & hygiene practices which will improve the quality of their lives. It will also help in developing local business amongst women through the sale of purified water using local water filtration methods. The project will also educate the community on water storage and home management of water.
